What is a track day?
A track day is a non-competitive, non-timed motoring event held at a motor racing circuit. It is a leisure event and open to drivers of road and race cars alike, offering the chance for drivers and passengers to enjoy the thrills of enjoying driving their vehicle quickly in a safe, responsible environment.

How much time will I get on track?
Plenty! By not overbooking the events and by running an "open pit lane" throughout the seven-eight hour day, Germantrack guarantees there is plenty of track time for everyone.
We recommend that most people limit their time on circuit in any given 'session' to 15-25 minutes; to avoid over-stressing both car and driver.
Obviously, at certain times of the day (generally the first hour, and again following lunch), the circuit will be busier than at other times, where you might get the circuit to yourself.
"Open pit lane" days are well-known for their generosity of track time. And, with such good prices and limited numbers, Germantrack offers great bang for your buck. It's the perfect place to enjoy your German performance car to the full...

Cars?
All German cars are welcome to Germantrack events (including non-German shells with German engines and drivetrains), providing they have a valid MOT/or be RAC/MSA approved.

Noise Restrictions?
Most of the UK circuits have strict noise restrictions, ranging from 98dB-106dB. Standard vehicle exhaust systems are usually fine, whereas some aftermarket systems and modified engines may struggle to pass. It is the responsibility of the driver to make sure his vehicle complies with the circuit dB level, or he/she will be removed from the circuit, with no refund.
A pre-event dB check is highly recommended, to avoid being caught short...

Fuel?
Most circuits provide fuel on site. However, this will be more expensive than the local pumps, which either Germantrack or the circuit staff will be happy to direct you towards.

Garages
Most tracks have pit lane garages available to use. Unlike some track day operators, Germantrack do not charge for their useage. And they are simply made available on a "first come, first serve" basis.

Insurance?
You are not required to have insurance for your track car.
However, for a small fee and piece of mind, your normal insurance company may be happy to do this for you.
If not, you could get specialist track day cover from CCi... Competition Car Insurance (0115-9415-255) or Heritage (0121-2466061) etc.
